Mobility Types

These are the specific movements recognized by the game engine to perform unit movement on or across the map. These identifiers must be used for the Mobility column of the Units tab of a National Data File and the letter in parenthesis is seen on the counter in the game.

  • NONE (-) – Used for Towed Weapon systems (Field Guns)

  • STATIC (S)– Used for Fixed Sites (SA-2, Hawk)

  • *BOAT (B) – Used by boats using wind or oars, non-engine based

  • *SCREW (C) – Used for motorized ships and submarines

  • *HOVER (V) – Air-cushioned vehicles that move over water and land

  • LEG (L) – Used for all ground troops

  • HORSE (O) – Used for animal-based transport (Cavalry, Wagons)

  • WHEEL (W) – Used for all wheeled vehicles

  • *HALFTRACK (H) – Used for vehicles with both wheels and tracks

  • TRACK (T) – Used for all tracked vehicles

  • *LOCOMOTIVE (M) – Vehicles with rail-based movement

  • GLIDER (G) – Used for all unpowered air systems

  • ROTOR (R) – Used for all Helicopter like systems

  • PROP (P) – Used for all Propeller based air systems

  • JET (J) – Used for all Jet engine type air systems

  • ROCKET (K) – Used for all Rocket engine type air/space systems

  • *ORBITAL (I) – used for hyper-sonic glide or reentry vehicles

* This mobility type is not currently active in the game engine and there are more that will be added to cover other land, sea, and air/space types as features are added or expanded during development of the product.
