William van der Sterren handles most of the map creation and variations duties for OTS game engine products.
Born and raised in “Cold War Europe” (the Netherlands), William still thinks fondly of long haired Dutch soldiers, a school trip to West- and East-Berlin, and the arrival of video games.
Although the Cold War ended, and school got finished, video games would never leave William. A computer sciences study and an assignment in defence simulations didn’t help. Neither did starting a lovely family and landing a great day job.
William contributed to AI for the tactical shooter Killzone (Playstation 2, 2004) and spoke and wrote about game AI, and created the web-based mission planner for combined arms maneuvers in the Arma series of games (PlannedAssault.com).
When making or playing video games, William often can be found on a bike, pursuing fitness in the Dutch, Belgium and German countryside.
